Cookies and Other Web Technologies
Our Website uses cookies and other web technologies, such as web server logs. A cookie is a small text file that is stored on your computer or device by a website's server. When you visit or interact with our Websites, we may use cookies to determine whether you've visited our Websites before, deliver personalized content, improve your experience on our Website, tailor ads displayed to you, and for data analytics. For example, cookies help us understand whether or not you are already logged in as you click throughout our Website. You may use your browser settings to choose what cookies can be placed on your computer and to delete or disable cookies but setting a browser to reject cookies may affect and limit your experience on our Websites.

California Privacy Rights
Under California law, website and online service operators are required to disclose how they respond to web browser "do not track" signals or other similar mechanisms. We currently do not change our tracking practices in response to "do not track" signals or other similar mechanisms. California law also requires website and online service operators to disclose whether third parties may collect personal information about users' online activities over time and across different sites when the users access the operator's website or service. Third parties that have content or services embedded on our Websites such as a social feature, analytics service, or an advertising network partner, may obtain information about your browsing or usage habits but this information does not include personal information.
These third parties do not change their tracking practices in response to "do not track" signals from your web browser and we do not obligate these parties to honor "do not track" signals. Under California law, California residents may request certain information regarding the types of information we share with third parties for direct marketing purposes and the identities of those third parties. If you are a California resident, you may make such a request by sending an email to us at privacy@hiketron.com with "California Privacy Information Request" as the subject line. Please be aware that not all information sharing is covered under California Civil Code Section 1798.83.
Children
Our Websites are not directed to children under the age of 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are under the age of 13, please stop using our Websites. It is our policy not to knowingly solicit or permit children under the age of 13 to provide their personal information for any purpose. Children aged 13 should be supervised by parents or adults if they wish to browse on our website.
Third Party Websites and Social Networking Sites
Our Websites may link to websites that are not under our control, and we are not responsible for the privacy practices of any linked site not controlled by us. For example, we provide a number of links to associations and institutes that are part of the packaging industry, as well as other industries. We also provide links to social networks, such as Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. We are not responsible for the privacy practices at these external websites or their use of your information. We encourage you to review the privacy policies for these websites.
Our website allows users to access our social media pages to interact with us, with friends and to share on Facebook through Wall and friends' News Feeds. If you are already logged into the Site and Facebook or another SNS, when you click on "Connect with Facebook", or a similar connection on another SNS, you will be prompted to link your profiles. If you are already logged into the Site but not logged into Facebook or another SNS that we support, when you click on "Connect with Facebook", or a similar connection on another SNS, you will be prompted to enter your SNS credentials or to "Sign Up" for the SNS.
By proceeding, you are allowing the Site to access your information and you are agreeing to the Facebook or other SNS's Terms of Use in your use of the Site. Conversely, if you are not currently registered as a user of the Site, and you click on "Sign in" using Facebook or another SNS that we support, you will first be asked to enter your Facebook or SNS credentials and then be given the option to register for the Site. In this case, we may receive information from Facebook or another SNS to make it easier for you to create an account on the Site and show our relevant content from your Facebook or SNS friends.
Once you register on the Site and connect with Facebook or another SNS, you will be able to automatically post recent activity back to Facebook or the other SNS. Any information that we collect from your Facebook or other SNS account may depend on the privacy settings you have with that SNS, so please consult the SNS's privacy and data practices. You have the option to disable Facebook Connect at any time by logging into your Account through the Site and going to settings, "Account Settings", and then unselecting "Facebook". Further, you can edit privacy settings for the reviews that appear on Facebook or disconnect your Site activity stream by visiting the Facebook Applications Settings page.
Community Profile on Hiketron: Should you choose to create a user profile and participate in the community feature of the Hiketron Mobile Application, the information you explicitly provide to us when you register or update your profile is displayed on your community profile. Your photos, posts and other content you post to the Hiketron Services are meant for public consumption and may be archived by us. We may display this content on the Site and further distribute it to a wider audience through third party sites and services. Once displayed on publicly viewable pages of the community, that information can be collected and used by others. We cannot control who reads your postings or what other users may do with the information that you voluntarily post, so it is very important that you do not put personal information in your posts. Once you have posted information publicly, while you will still be able to edit and delete it on the community feature of the Hiketron Mobile Application, you will not be able to edit or delete such information cached, collected, and stored elsewhere by others (e.g., search engines).

Examples of information that may be collected and used include your geographic location, how you use the mobile application, photos you post and messaging within the community feature, and information about the type of device you use. In addition, in the event our mobile application crashes on your mobile device, we will receive information about your mobile device model software version and device carrier, which allows us to identify and fix bugs and otherwise improve the performance of our mobile application. This information is sent to us as aggregated information and is not traceable to any individual and cannot be used to identify an individual.
Location Information
If you have enabled location services on your phone, we collect your location information to help personalize your user experience such as a retail locator function. If you do not want this information collected by us, you can disable location services on your phone.
Targeted Advertising
We may contract with third party advertising networks (e.g., Google) that collect IP addresses and other information through the use of cookies and web server logs on our Websites and emails, on third party websites, social media networks, and emails, and on our advertising placed on third party websites and social media networks. These advertising networks use this information to provide advertisements about products and services tailored to your interests (including for companies not affiliated with us). You may see these advertisements on our Websites or other third party websites. These processes also help us test and track the effectiveness of our marketing efforts.
Web Beacons
Our Site contains electronic images known as web beacons (sometimes called single-pixel gifs) and are used along with cookies to compile aggregated statistics to analyze how our Site is used and may be used in some of our emails to let us know which emails and links have been opened by which recipients. This allows us to gauge the effectiveness of our customer communications and marketing campaigns.
We use a third party to gather information about how you and others use our Site. For example, we will know how many users access a specific page and which links they clicked on. We use this information to understand and optimize how our website is used and also to personalize your user experience.
Security & Protecting Your Data
We maintain appropriate administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect the personal information you provide to us against accidental, unlawful or unauthorized access, alteration, loss, destruction, disclosure or use. Unfortunately, no security system is perfect, and we cannot promise that your personal information will remain secure in all circumstances, including the security of data on your mobile device.
Data Retention
We keep the information you provide to us for the duration of our relationship, plus a reasonable period of time thereafter in order to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements and protect our legal rights. We also collect and maintain aggregated, anonymized or pseudonymised information, which we may retain indefinitely to protect the safety and security of our Websites, improve our services or comply with legal obligations. If you wish to receive marketing communications from us, we will keep the information necessary to send you these communications following the end of our customer relationship or following their collection, if you are a prospective customer.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update our privacy policy at any time by posting updated text on this webpage. We display an Effective Date at the top of this policy so that it will be easier for you to know when there has been a change. Accordingly, we recommend that you check this privacy policy from time to time so that you are aware of our most current privacy practices. Each time you access, use, or browse one of our Websites, you signify your acceptance of the then-current version of this privacy policy.
